This is an anorak’s dream.
Lunney’s compilation produced in the early 90s provides a season by season breakdown of all Celtic games and line ups from the very first Scottish Cup campaign in 1888-89 through to the end of season 1991-92.
Everything you need is here in terms of line ups, scorers, attendances for all Celtic’s domestic and european games. The compilation also includes player and manager profiles together with many chapters on games and incidents of historical interest. (Hullbhoy)
Note: One important note, this book was released earlier than the author intended. The author wrote a letter to the ‘Not the View’ (fanzine) stating that it wasn’t as complete as he wanted and the publisher rush released it against his wishes. The publisher had a reply to this in the next issue, retorting to some of the criticisms against them. It’s up to you how you take their points, but nevertheless those who have bought the book have thoroughly enjoyed it.
