This pocket-sized book of Celtic related trivia comes from the acclaimed travel book company Rough Guide.
Essentially a collection of Hoops-related lists of 11 this dinky booklet covers a whole host of Celtic subjects – covering everything from top scorers to collectable programmes. The book contains all the lists you would expect to find plus plenty more irreverent topics.
With the emphasis on fun as much as information, 'Celtic: Rough Guide' can come across as trying a little bit too hard to be one of the Bhoys and its 'laddish' tone can grate after a while. Imagine a Celtic book written by the people who do those WKD adverts and you will get an idea of the style of this book.
In fairness though the book doesn't pretend to be a companion to the work of Campell, Potter or Woods and it should be applauded for at least attempting to be different. If you don't take it too seriouisly then this will still be an enjoyable read.
