Biog
Callum Osmand signed for Celtic at just 19, joining for a nominal development fee from Fulham. It was a rare sight to see Celtic bring in a talented player from down south, having previously lost a number of promising players to even second-rate English clubs.
Highly regarded and respected, he had been a standout performer for Fulham’s U-21 side. After receiving advice from former Celt Matt O’Riley, he chose to move to Celtic.
Season 2025/26
He made his debut at an odd time. Despite encouraging words on his signing, manager Brendan Rodgers never gave him a chance, which baffled everyone. However, after Rodgers’ early dismissal in the 2025/26 season, interim manager Martin O’Neill—assisted by Shaun Maloney— finally gave Osmand his much delayed opportunity. In his first match in charge (interim basis), O’Neill threw Osmand into the deep end. With the tense atmosphere, off-field chaos, and low morale, it was a baptism of fire. Yet, Celtic were cruising by the time Osmand came on in an easy 4-0 league win over Falkirk (Oct 2025).
He then came on as a substitute in the 3-1 League Cup semi-final win against TheRangers (Oct 2025). A sublime through ball from Kieran Tierney set him up to score his debut goal, sealing the victory. His good running and enthusiasm impressed everyone, likely leaving Rodgers with much regret for not giving him a chance himself.
However, as was typical of Celtic’s season back then, Osmand suffered a long-term injury that kept him out for almost the rest of the campaign. Yet, he returned in fairytale fashion.
In the winner-takes-all league clash against Hearts (3-1, May 2026), Celtic were desperate for a winning goal to secure the title. Osmand’s return was a surprise, especially as he was chosen over Reo Hatate (whose place he took in the squad), while the highly experienced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was left on the bench. He repaid the faith, adding creativity that troubled Hearts. Unlucky not to score the winner with a header, he then provided the assist in the dying moments, sending the support into raptures. Initially ruled offside, VAR confirmed Osmand was well onside. Then, with the final touches of the ball, he broke away, strolling from the Celtic box to the empty Hearts box to score the goal that sealed the victory.
“There’s no words for me to put this into,” he said. “This is what I dreamt of. If I could have written down how everything panned out, it would have been exactly like how today happened. So I’m just ecstatic.”
As Celtic went on to secure what had seemed an improbable league and Scottish Cup double, all eyes were on Osmand to see his progress after a contribution that was already greater than the sum of its parts.

Striker Callum Osmand has joined Celtic from Fulham, with the Premier League club confirming that the “highly-rated” 19-year-old had rejected the offer of a new contract.
Osmand, who has signed a four-year deal with the Scottish champions, has been at Craven Cottage since the age of 13 and has represented both England and Wales at youth level.
Last season, Osmand scored 18 goals across all competitions for Fulham’s Under-21 side.
The teenager revealed he received advice about the move from Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Matt O’Riley, who was a Fulham trainee before a successful spell at Celtic Park.
“He was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are and it’s a new life really,” Osmand told Celtic TV.
“So, ‘excited’ is definitely the word for me. It feels unbelievable. It’s a massive move and I can’t wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans.
“When I spoke to the manager, he was really positive. The plan and pathway he has set out for the club is top.”
Osmand becomes Celtic’s fourth first-team addition of the summer following the arrival of fellow forward Benjamin Nygren from Nordsjaelland and the return of defender Kieran Tierney from Arsenal and goalkeeper Ross Doohan from Aberdeen.
Fulham will be due a development fee from the Glasgow club.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers told his club website: “He’s a quick and powerful striker and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
“I’m sure he can be really successful with us. He is a highly-rated, talented young player.”

Celtic are set to confirm the signing of Fulham striker Callum Osmand this week when his contract officially expires, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is in Glasgow putting the finishing touches to his move to the Scottish champions.
Osmand has agreed a four-year deal at Celtic with the Scottish club only having to pay a training compensation fee to Fulham due to his expiring contract.
The forward, who has represented England and Wales at youth level, is leaving Craven Cottage after six years with the west London side.
Celtic set to wrap up fourth summer deal
He has been prolific for Fulham at youth level, scoring 11 goals and notching four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions for the Under-21 side last term.
Osmand scored more than 30 goals for the Under-18 and Under-21 side in the 2023-24 campaign and is now set to make the step to Scottish giants Celtic.
The teenager is yet to make his first appearance in senior football but could challenge for a place in Brendan Rodgers‘ side in the 2025-26 campaign.
Celtic, who won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup last term, have already wrapped up deals for Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan and Benjamin Nygren this summer.

Callum Osmand will celebrate his 20th birthday next Saturday, and he marked the end of his teenage years with his first Celtic goal in the 3-1 League Cup semi-final victory over Rangers at Hampden today (Sunday).
The young striker came on in the second half for the man who opened the scoring for the Hoops, Johnny Kenny, and he caused problems for the Rangers defence throughout the rest of the match.
Indeed, if it wasn’t for some great saves from Jack Butland, then Osmand could well have added to his goal.
His goal came three minutes into the second-half of extra-time, sliding in to steer home a Kieran Tierney cross, and he was delighted to get off the mark as he told Celtic TV after the game.
“There’s no words for me to put this into,” he said. “This is what I dreamt of. If I could have written down how everything panned out, it would have been exactly like how today happened. So I’m just ecstatic.
‘It was bringing a tear to my eye at the end. It’s the happiest moment of my life, and it’s unbelievable. I can’t thank everyone at the club and the supporters enough.’
“I felt like I had to get that because there were a couple of chances! I thought for the header across goal the keeper’s made an unbelievable save but there were a few chances that I should have put away, but I’m just glad we got it over the line.
“The result’s the most important thing but to get the goal to top it off is just fantastic.
“I’m so excited, all the boys are, and we’re in a very good place now. I feel like we’re all together and this will give us that boost to go and finish the job.”

Callum Osmand’s all-action goalscoring display off the bench in Celtic’s Scottish League Cup semi-final success over Rangers prompted a similar thought in the minds of many.
“Where has Osmand been?” asked former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew.
“Why has he not been an option until now?” wondered ex-Scotland forward James McFadden.
Those questions would likely also have been asked by a fanbase that has watched its team struggle in attack throughout this season.
In an influential cameo at Hampden, the 19-year-old scored one and could have had a couple more as Celtic saw off their 10-man rivals in extra time.
Replacing fellow goalscorer Johnny Kenny, who seems to have grasped his opportunity with both hands, Osmand has now also staked a claim to be a regular under interim manager Martin O’Neill.
“There are no words, it’s one of those moments that don’t happen,” the teenage forward told Premier Sports. “It’s an amazing feeling, there’s nothing better.
“This is going to be the craziest day of my life, there is nothing that can really top this – unless its scoring against them in the final – but it’s the best day of my life.”

Locating the missing Osmand
So where has Osmand been?
“Running up and down in the rain on the pitch on my own,” according to the Wales youth international, who was signed from Fulham’s academy on a free transfer in the summer.
A free-scoring forward in the Premier League side’s youth set-up, former manager Brendan Rodgers highlighted Osmand’s potential when he arrived in June.
However, the teenager failed to play a single minute under Rodgers, despite his attack lacking cutting edge, pace and intensity in the months before his shock resignation, and he was not included in Celtic’s Europa League squad.
Osmand was then handed his debut by O’Neill as a substitute in last Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Falkirk and again came off the bench at Hampden on Sunday.
“He has just given me the confidence and the trust,” Osmand said of the Celtic caretaker boss. “It only takes one person to believe in you and push you on.
“The past few months, that’s the bit that builds you as a person and a player. Those moments where I’ve not been in squads and I’m running up and down in the rain on the pitch on my own – with a couple other boys – is painful.
“But I feel those are the bits that create you as a player and prepare you for these moments – you just have to take it.”
Osmand gives Celtic ‘something different’

O’Neill conceded he “didn’t know anything” about Osmand until a week ago, but he has hailed his “excellent” contribution since.
“The young man is very sharp,” the interim manager added. “He wants to get a couple of DVDs on Henrik [Larsson] – that would help.
“He’s got plenty of confidence, he was arguing with everyone at the end.”
Former Celtic boss Neil Lennon described Osmand as “something a little bit different”.
In a vibrant and influential showing at Hampden, the Welshman had five shots and picked up a yellow card for a foul on Rangers captain James Tavernier.
His goal came with his fifth effort, a first-time finish between the posts following a low cross from the left by Kieran Tierney.
In the build-up, the youngster’s intense pressing helped Celtic regain the ball in the final third when he dispossessed Joe Rothwell.
That kind of drive has been missing from a Celtic side that have failed to score in six games this term and have netted fewer league goals than Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian and Dundee United.
But with seven goals in their past two games under O’Neill, and young duo Osmand and Kenny emerging from the shadows, there are suddenly signs of life in the forward line.
“That summed up a Celtic team under Martin O’Neill,” former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner said on BBC Sportsound.
“High energy, everybody banging into tackles. Is that what we are going to get from Celtic every week now?”.

Callum Osmand returned to action for the first time since November 6 last year, having endured a six-month absence through injury.
And the 20-year-old marked his return in spectacular style, coming off the bench in the 73 minute to provide an assist for Daizen Maeda before scoring Celtic’s third goal with the last kick of the game to seal the league title in style.
And speaking to Celtic TV after the game, he said: “I’ve got no words. It feels like my life is like a movie.
‘This is unbelievable and I don’t think there’s a better club in the world.’
“I had six months and I wasn’t able to give anything and it was out of my hands, and it was really tough, but the lads have been unbelievable. I’ve just put the cherry on the cake. I’m so happy.
“To be honest, I thought there was a keeper in goal and I was just running, thinking, I could make a mess this up, but as soon as I saw there was no keeper my eyes lit up and I just started smiling. It was amazing.
“I love this club so much. I’ve only been here a year – I wanted to give so much more this year but you can’t and it was out of my control, but I know what I can bring to the team and I was ready.
“I’ve worked hard and it wasn’t a fun six months, but this just makes it all worth it and the fans are just at another level. They’re the best in the world.”
