Jim Blyth was appointed Goalkeeping Coach at Celtic Park by Gordon Strachan in July 2005. He held the position throughout Gordon Strachan's tenure as manager with Stevie Woods as an assistant, and chose to move on with Gordon Strachan and Gary Pendrey in May 2009.

Born in 1955, Blyth began his playing career at Preston North End in 1971, but it was at Coventry City between 1972 and 1982 that Blyth made a name for himself. He later returned to Coventry City as goalkeeping coach there when the team were under the management partnership of Strachan and Pendrey. He moved with them when Strachan was sacked in 2001.

After his time with Celtic he eventually teamed up with Strachan and Pendrey again at Middlesbrough.
