Celtic well on top throughout. Rail traffic badly disrupted by rail and coal strike which prevented more Hearts fans from getting there, but still a sizeable Hearts presence. McMenemy was superb throughout, and McAtee had a part in all three goals. Hearts star men Bobby “Houdini” Walker up against Peter Johnstone who “never gave him a kick of the ball”.
