Trivia

  • Outside-left Joe Johnston opened the scoring for Motherwell in 9 minutes and three minutes later Malky MacDonald equalised for Celtic. Within three minutes of the second-half inside-right Tom "Hutton" Bremner put Motherwell in front and the same player added another in 73 minutes to bring about a convincing win for Motherwell.
  • The transfer of Frank O'Donnell from Blackpool to Aston Villa for £8,000 makes news in Canada [See below]. The O'Donnell brothers have been huge successes since leaving Celtic Park where they were happy to play apparently. Frank O'Donnell stars in his debut for the "Villans" and scores a brace.
  • Concern for the loss of form of the mighty Celtic is also felt across the Western Ocean and the success of Jimmy McGrory with the "killies" does not go unnoticed.
  • The Montreal Gazette advertises "A Distinguished Scotch Whisky Imported from Scotland, King George IV, at $3.20 for 261/2 oz. and $4.48 for a 40 oz. bottles.
