Review

In the first minute John Jack miscued the ball which flew to Patterson who shot past Beattie from 12 yards.

Beattie then kept out what looked like a sure goal with a tremendous save. eric Smith hit the bar and a 20 yard Collins shot flew narrowly over. With just over half an hour gone Celtic went further behind to another Patterson goal.

For the second half Evans and Jack swapped positions and Celtic looked the better for it. Conway whipped a Collins pass into the corner of the net to pull one back for Celtic.

Celtic, injuries and all, looked particularly poor with Jack at right half. This was the second loss in a row in the league and it may be that the league was lost here.

The game ended with booing from the terraces.
