Trivia

  • Reports appeared in the paper of George Connelly holding his estranged wife captive. Connelly was suspended from Celtic Park after walking out for the third time earlier in the season.#
  • Jackie McNamara and Ronnie Glavin both played with the Reserves at Pittodrie.

Review

New Aberdeen boss Ally MacLeod inspires the Dons to a rare win at Parkhead.
With Edvaldsson playing as a sweeper behind MacDonald and McCluskey Celtic ceded control of midfield and Aberdeen dominated particularly in the first half.
The second half saw Edvaldsson restored to his more usual midfield berth. Despite attacking Aberdeen for most of the half they were unable to score.
