Kenny McDowall was a successful Reserve Team coach at Celtic from 1997 to 2007.

McDowall had a reasonably successful career as a player, first with Partick Thistle who he joined from the groundstaff at the club in 1982. He played for Partick until 1984 when he was transferred to St Mirren. He became a regular and consistent performer for St Mirren and went on to make 291 appearances for the Paisley side, including their Cup winning appearance in the 1987 Scottish Cup final against Dundee Utd. He retired through injury in 1993 and joined the coaching staff at Love Street. After successfully completing all his coaching badges he joined the SFA in 1994 and was part of the Scottish Youth Development team that brought through a successful U18 Scotland side in 1997.

When Eric Black was appointed Head of Youth Development at Celtic in early September 1997 he brought McDowall to Celtic to work principally with the Reserve team and help to develop a comprehensive Youth team policy from the first team downwards.

McDowall enjoyed 10 years at Celtic and helped to take the Reserves to success many times in those seasons. He moved on in January 2007 to work as Rangers first team coach following the appointment of Walter Smith as manager. He moved up the dark side ladder of desire as managers and Boards came and went. He would go on to manage Rangers during their demise finally leaving in March 2015 when yet another Board took over what was now Sevco.

His current position and wherabouts are not known.
